Term Limits

Term limits play a vital role in our society. It’s high time to consider implementing them for the Mayor and City Council of Nederland.

Term limits promote accountability, prevent stagnation, and enable fresh ideas to be continually presented to our citizens. They also reduce entrenched power, promote transparency, and keep leaders focused on serving the community.

Achieving this would require an amendment to the Nederland City Charter. We owe it to the Citizens of Nederland to put term limits up for a community vote, and let our great citizens decide the ultimate direction they want our city to go.
