“I actively engage with our community by attending City Council meetings, challenging the status quo, and providing meaningful insights on key city and local issues.”

Transparency. Accountability. Common Sense.

About Britton Jones

I am honored to stand before you as a proud lifelong resident of Nederland–a town that runs in my veins and defines who I am. Nederland isn’t just where I’m from; it’s my family’s legacy, foundation, and future.

I was born a Bulldog from my first breath, or bark, as some may say, at Mid Jefferson Hospital in Nederland. Since then, every moment in my life has been shaped by this community. From boy to man, it taught me dedication, loyalty, hard work, and the value of showing up for the people and places you care about.

My great-grandparents planted our family roots in SETX in the 1950s in search of what we all know as the American dream. It’s where my father served as a police officer for 41 years until he retired from the Nederland Police Department, and it’s where I found my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Most importantly, Nederland is where I met the love of my life Kimberly. It’s where we have built our life together and plan to raise our own family. This isn’t just home for me. As you can see, it’s my entire world.

Education and Profession

I am a Nederland High School Graduate. I kept my post-high school education local. I earned an Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation from Lamar Institute of Technology. Then, I attended Lamar University, where I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology.

That foundation has led me to nearly a decade of work in the chemical industry, where I serve not only as a represented technician, but also a first responder in Industrial Fire and EMS.

City and Local Involvement

Since 2022, I’ve volunteered as the Vice Chairman of Emergency Services with the Nederland Heritage Festival, coordinating and working with others to provide a safe atmosphere for families to have fun and celebrate.

I am a Nederland small business owner. I work alongside other Nederland businesses to better serve our community's needs.

I currently serve our county as a Jefferson County Special Commissioner.
